About the author
V.K. Madhavan Kutty began his career as an editor in the Malayalam daily, Mathrubhumi, and then moved on to The Hindu as a senior journalist. He was also a founder director of satellite channel, Asianet. He received the Padma Bhushan and the Kerala Sahitya Akademi awards and the Swadeshabhimani Puraskaram in 2002 by the Kerala government.
