About the author
Girish Chaturvedi, born in 1937, grew up in a family of distinguished Hindi litterateurs and showed literary promise at an early age. In 1958, he joined Akashvani and retired as its director (National Service) in 1995. He has scripted TV serials like Gautama Buddha and Sambhaami Yuge Yuge and authored Tansen, Yeh Muhalewale (novels), Yamuna Se Yamuna Tak (essays and reminiscences), Sandesa Ansuan Ko (Khand Kavya-Brij Bhasah). The Uttar Pradesh government bestowed the Shridhar Pathak Puruskar on him. He has been awarded the Nehru Fellowship (1995) for his project on Braj ki Lok Sanskriti.
