About the author
Dr Shaila Santhanam, a graduate in medicine from Pune University, did her internship in AIIMS, New Delhi. Soon after, she got an opportunity to work as a consulting doctor with a leading slimming and healthcare company with centres all over India. This was a turning point in her life as she dealt with many adults suffering from various forms of illnesses—resulting from unhealthy eating patterns—like obesity. Shaila has also done extensive research in the field of Ayurveda and allied sciences to broaden her view and understanding of nutrition. About this time, she began work on a recipe book aimed at providing children with holistic nutrition. The idea was also to make nutrition an intrinsic part of the upbringing of a child as well as to provide easy and delicious options for parents to choose from. A year later, Nutritive Cooking for Children was ready.
