About the author
Dr. Sudhir Kakar took his Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Gujrat University, his Master's degree from Mannheim, Germany and his Doctorate from Vienna. He later trained in psychoanalysis at the Sigmund Freud Institute in Frankfurt in 1971. A world renowned figure, Dr Kakar is an expert in the fields of cultural psychology and the psychology of religion. He is the author of 16 non-fiction and 4 fiction books which include: Kama Sutra, Intimate Relations, Tales of Love, Sex and Danger, La Folle Et Le Saint, The Ascetic of Desire, and Indian Love Stories. Several of his books have been translated into French, German, and other languages. Dr. Sudhir Kakar is married to a writer and scholar of comparative religions and currently lives in Goa.
