About this book

Book of the Bizarre is a rich collection of strange, incomprehensible and downright shocking phenomena that have marked human civilization and contemporary history. From ghoulish legends of former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin’s eating habits, to the eerie curse of an ancient Egyptian king – savour the crazy, decidedly imperfect and bizarre world we live in with this book. A definite collector’s item for all things odd and inexplicable.

About the author

Ashok Malik (born 1969) is a news columnist and essayist, writing regularly for Indian newspapers. His professional work covers Indian politics and political economy, and the socio-economic changes taking place in his part of the world in a time of intense globalization. Malik thinks he has an eye for the strange, extraordinary and downright bizarre – and his journalistic life gives him ample opportunity to identify and record such phenomena. This book is a result of such an endeavour. Malik, who lives in New Delhi with his wife and son, has no plans of writing another.
